Right from the title of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we could more or less get the assumption that the film will focus on DC’s two leading Superheroes. However, as more details have been revealed regarding the premise of the plot and whom are set to appear, the film is widely regarded as a precursor to the upcoming Justice League movie.
Director Zack Snyder has recently revealed details regarding the other members of the league, and the extent of their roles within the upcoming blockbuster. Speaking on the Hall of Justice podcast (via io9), he said “As far as the other Justice League characters go, the play a very small role. It’s really just a whisper they exist. Except for Wonder Woman, we see her well. But really the movie is about Batman and Superman”.
It would be understandable if some fans are disappointed by the news, while others are more enthused with the idea that it won’t be overtly saturated. It surely doesn’t take away from the film’s role as a start-up to the DC cinematic multiverse, and hints a larger franchise that would eventually prioritize everyone’s favourite characters.
