Beverley Knight Returns To West End To Lead ‘The Bodyguard’ Cast | Arts
It’s always nice to see Beverley Knight back in the news, and I’m pleased to report that the bona fide Queen Of British Soul will soon be returning to the West End to play the lead role in The Bodyguard musical once again.
The musical is an adaptation of the hit 1992 film, and Knight will be reprising her role of Rachel Marron, which she last performed in 2013 – a role which was played by Whitney Houston in the film. I wasn’t sure if this production was full of original numbers, but Whitney fans you’re in for a treat, as the musical showcases the late singer’s hits, including (and who can forget?) “I Will Always Love You”.
If you’re a Whitney fan, or Beverley fan, or even a fan of both, you might want to get in there quick, as The Bodyguard returns for a limited 6 month run, from July 15, 2016 to January 7, 2017. The show will be appearing at London’s Dominion Theatre, and tickets go on general sale on Friday, February 12. Here’s the original trailer for the musical:
