‘Game Of Thrones’ Ending Will Be ‘Bittersweet’ According To George R.R Martin | TV News
George R.R Martin, author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, which HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones is based on, has promised the ending of the book series will be “bittersweet“. Talking to The Observer, Martin said “I haven’t written the ending yet, so I don’t know, but no. That’s certainly not my intent. I’ve said before that the tone of the ending that I’m going for is bittersweet“. The author even pointed out similarities between his ending and the ending of JRR Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings series, saying “it ends with victory, but it’s a bittersweet victory“. The new series of Game of Thrones will air in 2016.
