Gary Lineker Criticises Culture Secretary Following BBC Speech | TV News
Gary Lineker has said what we’ve all been thinking of the esteemed culture secretary John Whittingdale as he continue to plot with ITV and Channel 4 to bring the BBC to its knees. The former sport host has called the culture secretary a “chump” after the former joked that abolishing the BBC is a “tempting prospect”.
In a speech, Whittingdale jokingly commented on the BBC’s charter that runs out at the end of 2017, commenting in full: “if we don’t renew it, it may be that the BBC will cease to exist, which is maybe occasionally a tempting prospect”.
