Jimmy Smits Signs On To Play Ambitious Senator In ’24: Legacy’ | TV News
The star rating of the 24 reboot just shot up by twelve, the show has just cast twelve-time Emmy nominee Jimmy Smits as a powerful U.S. Senator with higher political ambitions. TVLine also reports that the character is married to the former head of CTU – played by Miranda Otto.
Smit’s CV speaks for itself in why he was chosen to join the show’s cast, the actor has appeared in shows like LA Law, The West Wing, Dexter, and Baz Luhrmann’s new Netflix series The Get Down. Also joining the cast is Anna Diop as Eric’s wife Nicole Carter, and Teddy Sears as the new head of the CTU. The reboot of 24 will focus on a new character, military hero Eric Carter – played by Corey Hawkins – who turns to the CTU for help when his life is threatened by an unknown antagonist.
