The Russian-born Strictly star Kristina Rihanoff surprised fans and housemates when she announced live on air that she is expecting ”a little one”.
Kristina’s housemates, who she already considers ”family”, were quick to congratulate the star on her exciting news. Her fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestants showed their support, whooping when she first announced her pregnancy and another squealing with joy when she confirmed she was ”almost three months” pregnant.
Since joining Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, Kristina has been involved in several cases of the infamous ‘strictly curse’. Welsh boxer, Joe Calzaghe, who Kristina partnered in 2009, left his girlfriend of five years just a week into the competition. He and Kristina went onto have a four year relationship.
Kristina’s relationship with her current boyfriend and father of her child, Ben Cohen, was no less controversial. When the two were paired together in Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, they quickly sparked rumours of a romance and Ben ultimately split from his wife of eleven-years, Abby Cohen.
Kristina’s pregnancy news is certain to shake up 2016’s Strictly Come Dancing, as her baby is due shortly before the new series airs in September, it is unlikely that she will compete in this year’s competition.
