Mark Ruffalo stars in the trailer for upcoming film The Normal Heart which is set to premiere on HBO. The film is directed by the creator of Glee Ryan Murphy, and follows Ruffalo’s character, Ned Weeks a gay activist and a doctor played by Julia Roberts as they help to raise awareness on the HIV/AIDS disease and try to get politicians to support them. The film is based on Larry Kramer’s 1985 Tony Award-winning Broadway play which explores AIDS in the US during the 1980s. The cast also consists of Taylor Kitsch, Matt Bomer and Jim Parsons. The film will premiere on HBO on May 25, 2014.
