With multiple collaborations now under his belt, it looks like Australian electronic artist Japanese Wallpaper is branching into the first bit of solo work since his self-titled EP was released earlier this year.
At the age of just 18, the budding young artist brings us the utterly encapsulating Cocoon. With the settling sound of a faint rolling snare, you are soon carried by elegant arpeggios, all the while never floating too far from Strum’s sobering lyrics.
And although the artist himself appears keen to do more collaborations, this track serves to prove his worth as a gifted multi-instrumentalist. I just hope that we’re not waiting too long before some potential overseas collaborations lead to some overseas tour dates as well.
