Channel 4 and National Geographic have announced that they are teaming up to make a drama about the experiences of four young Brits who travel to Syria to join ISIS.
The “fact inspired” drama, due to be written and directed by Wolf Hall director Peter Kosminsky, will tell the story of four men and women who leave their lives behind to join the militant group in Raqqah.
Beth Willis, head of drama at Channel 4, commented: “After a year of extensive research, Peter has written a fascinating fictional story that sheds light on an unknown and unimaginable world. This is a deeply authentic drama through which we are able to question and confront an incredibly complex, divisive and urgent global issue”.
