RIVRS, London-based duo made up of singer Charlotte and producer Fin, are ready to release their debut EP, and if the first two singles are any indication of what to expect, expect the unexpected.
The band unveiled their second track, “Falling”, earlier this week, and shared the official video for it today. After the melancholic warmth of their debut single, “Friend Lover”, Charli XCX’s proteges opted for an abrupt U-turn.
“Falling” starts off as an icy cold, Swedish-influenced, BANKS-sounding atmospheric number, only to explode – thanks to vibrating guitar-y synths – into an infectious chorus which might be produced by British sensation Disclosure.
The clip, shot by director Bison (Bastille, Florence & The Machine), features the couple striking some poses in front of some fractured mirrors. Definitely another case of a stellar song accompanied by a mediocre video.

RIVRS are set to release their debut EP, Falling, on August 5, via Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom Recordings.
