London radio station Reprezent 107.3FM ‘The Voice of Young London’ is partnering with NHS Newham Clinical Commissioning Group for this year’s National Mental Health Week (May 12 – May 16) in a bid to get young Londoners to open up and talk about mental health issues people in the city commonly face, fronted by their ‘Is It Just Me’ campaign.
According to reports, one in ten young people suffer from depression, stress or anxiety by the time they are 18 and one in four people suffer from mental health issues, and it is suggested that the lack of open and informed discussions means that most young people are unaware that they or their friends might be suffering or what they can do about it. Reprezent Radio and Newham CCCG have come together especially to challenge the taboos surrounding mental health and reduce the stigma attached to talking about these issues.
Each day this week (May 12 to May 16), Reprezent Radio will facilitate young people exploring a mental health theme in a youth friendly and safe environment, with interactions open via the radio website, social media and FM band. Musicians such as Rudimental, Bashy, Akala and Lady Leshurr will also be taking part in these discussions along with health representatives fron Newham CCCG, Young Minds, Beat Bullying and Raw Materials among others.

Tuesday 13th: Teenage Anxiety
Wednesday 14th: Bullying
Thursday 15th: Drugs and Alcohol
Friday 16th: Depression, young people and the music industry
