Pairing up two of the most likeable on screen presences in practically a comedic X-Files series? Sounds pretty great. That’s exactly what Fox have done, having ordered Ghosted, a single camera series centring on a cynical skeptic (Craig Robinson) and a genius believer in the paranormal (Adam Scott) who are recruited to help explain bizarre goings-on in Los Angeles.
Ally Walker and Adeel Akhtar will co-star, with Tom Gormicon (That Awkward Moment) having written the pilot and set to serve as executive producer alongside showrunner Kevin Etten (Workaholics).
The timing is perfect for Fox, having renewed The X-Files for another season, Ghosted will air next season alongside the popular sci-fi drama.
Scott and Robinson are frequently the best parts of any project they’re in and should be a great tandem. Scott even has experience with supernatural, having starred in Christmas horror movie Krampus, while Robinson might have to adapt a little unless the show has any spooky hot tub time machines (which Scott also starred in, are we sure this isn’t Hot Tub Time Machine 3?).
Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia) has directed the pilot, and with Scott and Robinson reportedly having signed on just by hearing the pitch, hopefully their excitement translates to a great show.
