Young Galaxy felt the need to take a break from a constantly changing and tiring music industry. The duo stepped away and started their own label to become completely independent and, as the proof that this was the right move, they share their new track “Under My Wing“.
It’s the first single from the upcoming album Down Time, which will be available in full on April 6. The band calls their first fully independent record a ‘punk spirit’ album. The release follows their latest track “Elusive Dream” and it looks like Young Galaxy is really moving towards more experimentalism and individuality.
The Montreal-based electro-pop band defines the new album’s first track as “a song that sleeps during the day and walks the empty streets at night. It’s about the failure of capitalism, the isolation of suburbia, and the drive to discover sensuality, connection, and a spark of life in the face of despair”, and this is just a perfect description of it.
