Kate Bosworth has become somewhat of a scream queen in recent years, having developed the reputation by appearing in such genre films as Black Rock, the Straw Dogs remake, Mike Flanagan‘s Before I Wake, and most recently, The Domestics. She’s set to continue her good run in genre films as she has signed on to produce and star in the sci-fi thriller, Genesis.
The film will be directed by Mike Lè Han from a screenplay penned by Brian Michael Scully. It will revolve around a mother searching for her daughter in a post-apocalyptic world, and producers have been taking the title around the American Film Market looking for a studio to pick it up.
This isn’t the only sci-fi fare Bosworth is attached to. She will also produce and star in Neil LaBute‘s The I-Land, which Netflix just ordered to series, and her Make Pictures banner is also busy developing the sex-trafficking drama Nona, as well as Tate, a Sharon Tate biopic that Bosworth is also set to star in. The film will be directed by husband Michael Polish.
