After a long silence in the music scene, American singer Jhené Aiko has decided to close out 2018 with a brand new single, and it’s an emotional one.
Today, Aiko released her new track titled “Wasted Love Freestyle 2018”, produced by Amaire Johnson. The song is filled with sentiment and the instrumentation is smooth and mesmerising. Aiko sings about a relationship that has now come to an end and the feelings that remain from a lost love:
“You became my life, I never realised you were my life, without you by my side that just don’t feel right”, she sings. “I loved you before I even knew why. How did we get away from love? How did I get away from us?”
Aiko has released the new song on all her socials, including on Twitter with the caption: “Tis the season”.

It is not confirmed whether the song refers to her relationship with Big Sean, but the singer does indeed sing about an ex and the sorrow she is going through now that her significant other is no longer by her side.
Jhené Aiko has not released music of her own for quite a while. The last album she shared was back in September, 2017 titled TRIP. However, it does seem like the talented artist has returned and is ready to bless us with new music in the near future.
