Netflix has released a first look at its upcoming horror series Chambers, headed by Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn. The creator Leah Rachel confirms the series is a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolise trauma, and it takes place in a mystic New Age pocket of Arizona.
The network explains the series centres on a “young heart attack survivor [who] becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.”
Chambers is executive produced by Alfonso Gomez Rejon and Leah Rachel with producers Winnie Kemp, Wolfgang Hammer, Jennifer Yale and Steve Gaghan. It stars Thurman, Goldwyn, Sivan Alyra Rose, Lilliya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte and introduces Griffin Powell-Arcand.
Uma Thurman plays Nancy Lefevre, the mother of a heart transplant donor. Nancy wants to get to the bottom of her daughter’s death, as the recipient portrayed by Sivan Alyra Rose, begins to take on some troubling characteristics of the person whose organ she now depends on.
Chambers launches April 26 on Netflix. Here are first look images from the series:
