Singer Valencia James has recently released an acoustic video of her song “Dreamers”. This track, alongside with the anthem “Flames”, represents the first work of the artist, who has been praised by fans and critics.
As the title of the song may suggest, the main theme of the track is the importance of not giving up on your dreams, no matter how hard it can be. During an interview, Valencia revealed: “I wrote Dreamers at a time in my life when I was learning how to dream again and believe in dreams that I had forgotten about”.
She added: “It’s kind of that song where I was just like, ‘Why can’t I do all the things that I want to?’ I had just come out of a period of depression about my future and this was my song … let’s all just start dreaming again and going for what we want in life”.
In the video, the singer provides an incredible and gorgeous interpretation of the song. As it is an acoustic performance, instrumentals naturally are not as strong as in the original version. This is, though, one of the qualities of the video, since the delicateness and purity of James’ voice come out completely. The black and white quality and the minimal set help the singer’s voice stand out as well.
