Michael B. Jordan, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg To Produce Amazon Drama ‘Middle West’ | TV News

Michael B. Jordan, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are teaming up to produce a drama series for Amazon. Titled Middle West, the series hails from relatively unknown writers Julien Martin Hawthorne and Alexander Aciman. Jordan and Alana Mayo will produce for their Outlier Society banner, while Rogen and Goldberg are representing their Point Grey Pictures.

The series will follow two Chicago FBI agents who are sent to Indiana to investigate the murder of two police officers, who themselves were looking into a series of missing women cases. It’s no surprise the series ended up at Amazon, considering Outlier Society’s first-look deal at the studio. Point Grey just inked a deal with Lionsgate.

This is just the latest project Jordan is producing. Ever since founding Outlier Society, he’s been very busy in his producer’s chair. His banner recently acquired the rights to Rena Barron‘s trilogy of Kingdom Of Souls novels and the book Black Leopard, Red Wolf. He’s also producing a monster movie by Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, plus a Methuselah movie with Jon Watts at the helm.

Rogen and Goldberg also aren’t strangers to the producing game. Their co-created series Preacher just concluded its four season run, while Future Man is heading into its third and final season. They also recently debuted the Amazon superhero satire The Boys, which was just renewed for a second season.

The premise of Middle West has plenty of promise. It sounds a little like True Detective, which is maybe what Amazon is hoping for. They’ve been trying to emulate other network’s success, with their Lord Of The Rings series most prominently trying to cash in on the fantasy hole left by Game Of Thrones.

Getting Jordan, Rogen and Goldberg on board to help set up Middle West should be a big help.
