Thom Yorke Shares New Clip For ‘Last I Heard (… He Was Circling The Drain)’ | Music News

Thom Yorke, Radiohead’s frontman, has just released a video clip which accompanies his song “Last I Heard (… He Was Circling The Drain)”. The song belongs to his third solo album, ANIMA, which was released earlier this year and has been positively acclaimed. Indeed, it topped the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart upon release.

The British musician chose the creativity of Brooklyn-based creative studio Art Camp and Director Saad Moosajee to create a short film that could reach the same level of his song. And he succeeded. They worked on the imagination of Thom Yorke and his longtime art partner Stanley Donwood, which have given birth to the surreal sci-fi world showed in the clip.

The video clip transports the spectator in a dreamy out-of-world atmosphere, populated by faceless individuals that walk restlessy, while an astronaut observes them, while desperately seeking contact and human kind, in an urgent escape from loneliness. The projected themes have always been very dear to the singer.

Moreover, there has been a lot of work behind this five minutes short video. It has been made with more than 3,000 hand-illustrated frames that, during the production phase, needed the help of clay sculpture, 3D figurines, crowd simulations and charcoal dust.

We made the entire video and threw it away, made it again, threw it away, dozens of times. This, of course, was stressful but also beautiful”, said the directors.
