UK indie band PREP have released their brand new single “On and On” from their forthcoming debut album, which is scheduled for October 2020. The cross-cultural four-piece band presents a synth pop song with indie references.
PREP consists of Grammy-nominated producer Dan Radclyffe, French drummer Guillaume Jambel, Welsh keys player Llywelyn Ap Myrddin and London vocalist & frontman Tom Havelock. Since 2015 they combining contemporary R&B, electronic musics and the soft sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s.
They all bring different influences and musical backgrounds into the band. Llywelyn has a classical music education in composition and piano. Furthermore Guillaume is a house producer and DJ, Dan comes from the hip-hop corner and Tom works is a songwriter for pop music. Each member already worked with well-known artists as AlunaGeroge, George Fitzgerald, Kasabian and Celeste.
“On and On” is a regretful love song, but still spreads good vibes and is based on a funky alt-pop sound. “This one started life as a love song, a real romantic slow burner, but as we got to the chorus it somehow became about someone who’s left. It’s almost like the song wishes it was a love song”, vocalist and frontman Tom Havelock describes. Listen to the song below.
