Good news for Alt-J as their latest album This Is All Yours has topped the UK album charts. Keyboardist Gus Unger Hamilton said of the matter, “we’re over the moon to see our album at number one. It was never something we thought we’d achieve, but it’s our fans who have put us there so we owe this to them”. Alt-J managed to beat fellow contender Barbra Streisand with her album Partners by over 5000 copies, which proves that despite the departure of Gwil Sainsbury earlier this year, the band are still able to deliver. Other artists that Alt-J managed to overtake include Sam Smith, Leonard Cohen and Aphex Twin.
