Essex-born vocalist Mercy’s Cartel has just unveiled her new single “Falling”, a lively new piece packed with energetic beats and captivating vocals.
Inspired by a socially distanced romance that blossomed during the lockdown earlier this year, the song was born amidst pain and grief. With elements of R&B, pop & electronica tinged throughout, the song is filled with her warm vocals, percussion-driven synths and a dreamy melody.
Last month, she was part of Native Management’s initiative to get more women of colour into music careers both front and back of house. Speaking extremely highly of her time there, the artist learnt skills in lighting, mixing, playback technology and now feels more inspired than ever.
Experiencing a full circle moment during the course whilst speaking to one of her biggest inspirations Nao, Mercy Cartel now has her sights set sky-high.
Growing up in Essex, the singer was introduced to music at her young age, and then started playing the double bass in her local church and orchestra. She released her debut EP D.Y.E. in 2019, after her first single “6 Tears” came out in 2018.
With new singles on the way and an EP in the pipeline, Mercy’s Cartel is excited to get her new music out, so you can expect to hear more from her in the next few months.
