Jake Huffman Unveils Soothing New Ballad ‘The Coast’ | Music News

The new self-produced single “The Coast” from Jake Huffman is the kind of stripped-down ballad that soothes as a result of Jake’s emotional lyrics and the simple guitar creating a spacious musical ambience throughout the track.

The intimate production communicates his nostalgia of “The Coast” that he calls his home with a deep authenticity which fits right into the classic 90s/00s nostalgia that Jake is becoming known for. This single virtually makes you travel and hear the waves of the ocean.

At the age of 14, Jake Huffman began his musical journey while traveling up and down the east coast with his rock and roll band, McLovins, subsequently projected on a national scale after recording in 2015 a self-titled LP with Grammy/Tony/Emmy award winning producer, Bill Sherman.

Jake’s band shared the stage with acts such as Blink-182, Jack White, BB King, and The Flaming Lips. In 2010, Rolling Stone described him as “having the ability to harness the musical ferocity of Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland before being able to legally drive a car”.

Jake left an imprint as a composer and lyricist for Sesame Street writing dozens of songs for artists like Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges.

2020, like many artists, left Jake isolated in his home studio. He used the time to hone his craft of production, mixing, and songwriting. His bi-weekly youtube series Jake Huffman’s Sunday Mixdown saw major success and inspired Jake to release music that was 100% self produced.

With years of touring and production experience under his belt and an ability to masterfully handle multiple instruments, Jake has created a sound that pulls deep from his rock roots and reaches far into what can only be described as the sound of the 20’s.
