Twilight star Kristen Stewart stars in the new trailer for soldier drama Camp X-Ray. Directed by Peter Sattler, who can usually be found in the art department of such mega hits like Walk The Line and Star Trek, Camp X-Ray follows the story of female soldier, Pvt. Amy Cole, played by Stewart, and her blooming friendship with prisoner, Amir Ali, played by Peyman Moaadi. The two of them are based in Camp X-Ray, a detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, when they form an unlikely and ill-advised bond.
Audiences are familiar with seeing Stewart on the big screen but this is a fairly new place for co-star Peyman Moaadi. Iranian actor Moaadi, is better known for writing big, silver screen Iranian Scripts such as Coma and Atash. The two of them look set to be a perfect match of unlikely solidarity in the trailer and it is clear that their relationship will act as a catalyst for the disruption of their lives.
Despite getting mixed reviews of her performances in the famous Twilight films, Stewart has received much critical acclaim in movies such as On The Road, it seems audiences are in good hands as her low key approach to acting may enable her to portray a soldier believably. Camp X-Ray, which also stars Cory Michael Smith, John Carroll Lynch, Marco Khan and Tara Holt, will open in the US on October 17, 2014, with a UK date still to be announced.
