J Balvin has released the music video for his new single “Ma’ G”, the first single from his upcoming album, which will be the singer’s fifth and follow-up to last year’s Colores album.
He also surprised his fans by performing this track on Saturday in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium during the battle between Canelo Álvarez and Avni Yildirim. After starting the song when his friend Álvarez stepped into the ring, Balvin released the single and the video that accompanies it on online platforms.
As for the sequel to Colores 2020, the album is almost finished, the singer told Rolling Stones magazine, adding that it will be available soon. Balvin said it’s completely different from Colores, which was an audio-visual concept album inspired by colors and their different meanings.
“This new album is all about me, it’s the first time I’m going to talk about personal stuff. I’ve never done that before”, the rapper stated.
Given the project’s intimate nature, he says he’s always doing what he loves and excels at: producing hits and portraying reggaeton. “I’m definitely trying to just elevate every single aspect of myself with this album. You have to compete with yourself. It’s about trying to get better and better, and being fearless about it,” the singer added.
