With already a few international stars playing the royalty for the biopic on the late Princess Diana titled Spencer, the production is continuing to add new actors and actresses to play other relevant personalities to the story.
The cast is completing itself as the filming goes on and now the team is welcoming Olga Hellsing who will be playing Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, and Thomas Douglas as Earl Spencer, Diana’s father.
Both new casts are not usually in the Hollywood spotlight. Olga is a German model and actress, she is of course, fluent in English and has a similar look to the Duchess of York – but in her younger days – so we will see how she will be able to play that strong personality.
As for Thomas Douglas, he is also a German actor. His role as Diana’s father will be quite a challenge but also a great way for the actor to show his acting talents.
It is reported that the film will be based on an important moment in Diana’s life – a Christmas holiday in 1991 where Diana spends time at the Sandringham house with the family. However, this Christmas holiday wasn’t the usual one, it is at that time that the Princess decided to leave Prince Charles after his betrayal. So we will get a film on the last moments of the royal couple, who were officially separated in 1992.
The film is directed by filmmaker Pablo Larrain and written by Steven Knight. We don’t have any official dates on the release or even the full cast just yet.
