Lena Headey and Nick Frost have already played a married couple once – in 2019 wrestling drama Fighting with My Family – and it must have been such a blast that they’ve signed up to do it again. The pair will star in upcoming comedic thriller Svalta, which has been penned by Frost himself.
Svalta will follow a couple as they take their family on a holiday to a remote Swedish island. However, the family soon finds themselves the target of a serial killer that is loose. They must work together as a family to survive after all the locals on the island refuse to help.
Frost said in a statement: “After working with Lena in Fighting with My Family I couldn’t imagine anyone else in the world I’d want to play Susan. So I was absolutely thrilled when I heard she’d not only read the script but she actually liked it enough to do me the great honour of saying yes and once again being my on-screen wife.”
Dutch filmmakers Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil will helm the film. Frost’s other writing credits include 2011 alien comedy Paul and Amazon comedy horror series Truth Seekers, both of which he wrote alongside longtime pal Simon Pegg.
Headey is best known for Game of Thrones, but has recently appeared in films such as Gunpowder Milkshake, Twist, and The Flood. She will soon be seen in The White House Plumbers, an upcoming political miniseries about the Watergate masterminds who accidentally overturn the Presidency they were trying to protect.
Svalta is expected to begin filming in Finland early next year.
