Cara Delevingne was caught up in one of the most cringe-worthy interviews whilst on the promo run for her new film Paper Towns. Whilst taking part in the short interview for morning show Good Day Sacramento, Delevingne was asked an array of somewhat ‘stupid’ questions including whether she had read the book that the film was based upon and whether she was exhausted.
One of the presenter’s even went on to say that she seemed irritated and that it was probably just them, to which Delevingne responded “No just you“. Cara has since taken to Twitter to defend herself tweeting “Some people just don’t understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour“.
Author John Green has also jumped to her defense stating, “Cara has read the book (multiple times), but the question is annoying — not least because her male co-star, Nat Wolff, was almost always asked when he’d read the book, while Cara was almost always asked if she’d read it”. He went on to say, “Cara, refuses to stick to the script, she refuses to indulge lazy questions and refuses to turn herself into an automaton to get through long days of junketry. I don’t find that behavior entitled or haughty. I find it admirable“.
To be honest I quite rate Cara for continuing on with the interview, even though you could feel the tension and if she did walk of who could blame her. How do you start an interview with someone and not even pronounce their name right. Carla. Who’s Carla? And the comment about the Red Bull, that was a bit too far. Paper Towns is out now in the US and in cinemas in the UK from August 1.
