The wide-eyed Amanda Seyfried is about to join the twisted world of Twin Peaks after reportedly being cast in a major role. TV Line broke the news that Seyfried is expected to appear in multiple episodes as a “pivotal new character” in Showtime’s revival of the hit 90’s crime thriller. After a number of stumbling blocks earlier this year, including a brief time when Twin Peaks creator David Lynch left the project. Filming for the new series that will follow the lore of the original series and see the return of Kyle MacLachlan, as perennial fan favourite Special Agent Dale Cooper, begins filming this month.
But don’t expect to see the series anytime soon as indicated by Showtime president explaining: “the bottom line is I’ll take it when they’re ready with it. So I can’t get any clearer whether it’s going to be ’16 or ’17, but I’m hoping. I’m hoping sooner rather than later“. With promises from Lynch and Nevins that long-time fans will finally get answers to some of the series long-standing questions. Expect the road to Twin Peaks debut to be eagerly-anticipated ride.
