Apprentice candidate Gary Poulton, known as Mr Mankini, was reportedly arrested at 4am after an early morning domestic row. Poulton lives with his partner Lucy-Jo Allen and young daughter Millie, and according to The Sun, police were called to the property over an apparent disturbance. Mr Mankini was then supposedly arrested three miles away at his parents’ house where the 34 year-old was taken into custody but later released without charge.
“I was not arrested, nor taken into police custody“, claims Poulton. “While the police did visit my parents’ house I co-operated with them fully and they moved on without further action”. West Midlands Police, however, stated that “a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to Chelmsley Wood station” and “was later released without charge”.
