After a leaked trailer for Star Trek Beyond appeared at warp speed online (in German), Paramount Pictures have released the official trailer, despite it not being scheduled to crash-land until the end of this week. In comparison to the previous films – 2009’s Star Trek and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, this film seems to take a wackier approach to the starship Enterprise crew. Whether this will be the case for the whole movie remains to be seen.
The film is the first not to feature J.J Abrams as its director, due to him directing Episode VII of the Star Wars saga. However, he’s not fully betraying the starship Enterprise, for he will act as producer for the upcoming film. Returning crew members include the obvious Chris Pine (Captain Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (McCoy), Simon Pegg (Scotty), John Cho (Sulu), Zoe Saldana (Uhura) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov). Star Trek Beyond will beam down on July 22, 2016. Live long and prosper and catch the trailer below.
