Following his announced departure from BBC’s Doctor Who after five years in charge, executive producer and writer Steven Moffat has thanked his beloved Whovians for their “lovely comments”, as he begins the process of handing over the TARDIS keys in 2017. It was previously announced that Moffat would step down as show-runner after series 10 airs next Spring; leaving Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall in charge.
Despite quitting Twitter a few years ago after being hounded by frustrated fans, Moffat took the opportunity to thank his fans via his producing partner and wife Sue Vertue’s Twitter account, where he was keen to reiterate that he has a final series to produce yet before his journey’s end. See the tweet below:
Steven thanks you all for your lovely comments and reminds you he's got a whole season to go yet!
