The official trailer for the new Annie film starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz and produced by Jay Z and Will Smith has been released. The video shows Diaz’s portrayal of Miss Hannigan as more endearing and tough than horrible like the original, with modern references made to fellow actor George Clooney.
Foxx’s character is shown as egotistical when he first takes Annie in to boost his voting potential for the upcoming New York mayoral election. The 2014 version of the classic film contains a lot of comedic scenes with Diaz leading these scenes. Quvenzhane Wallis plays Annie in this modern remake. Expect singing, dancing, drama and comedy from Annie when it lands in US and UK cinemas on December 19, 2014 and February 6, 2015 respectively.
