The upcoming Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, set in the Harry Potter universe, is set to be the first movie in a trilogy, J.K. Rowling has announced. Rowling, the author of the original Harry Potter series, including its spin off books, spoke out on her personal twitter account about the potential for more than one film.
In a reply to a fan who asked the writer whether the upcoming play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child will be turned into a film, Rowling replied, “You heard wrong, I’m afraid“, before adding, “Fantastic Beasts will be 3 movies, though!

The upcoming movie is set to star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, who attends the Magical Congress of the United States of America, after his travels in finding magical creatures. The story is set in the 1920’s, well before the arrival of Harry Potter himself. The film is due for release in November.
