A$AP Rocky To Miss Wireless Festival With J Hus Confirmed As Replacement | Music News

Rapper A$AP Rocky has been detained in Sweden on suspicion of assault after a fight on a Stockholm street.

He was due to headline Wireless Festival at London’s Finsbury Park this Sunday but will remain in custody while an investigation takes place. Wireless Festival have today confirmed that he will be replaced by UK rapper J HUs.

Following an appearance at Stockholm’s Smash Festival earlier this week, A$AP Rocky was arrested on July 3 after footage posted online showed him punching another man.

Swedish authorities had until Saturday to decide whether to take action and following a detention hearing in Stockholm, Sweden’s Prosecution Authority decided to keep him in custody. If their investigation doesn’t conclude in two weeks time, they can apply to keep him there for another two weeks.

As a result of the hearing, his charge has been reduced from aggravated assault to assault.

Two other individuals were involved in the fight and were also arrested for aggravated assault. They are currently waiting for their hearings to take place, while his bodyguard was released earlier this week after being arrested for assault.

Videos posted to A$AP Rocky’s Instagram on July 2 shows the incident which led to the altercation. He and his group walk away from two young men who had “followed them for four blocks“. In the second video, he accuses the man of hitting his bodyguard in the face with a pair of headphones, and a woman can be heard telling the rapper that one of the young men, “slapped my ass and my girlfriend’s ass“.

A$AP Rocky was also due to perform at Longitude in Ireland on Friday. He’d already missed out on headlining Open’er Festival in Poland on Thursday, with Stormzy stepping in to replace him.
