Afro futuristic hip-hop rising star Niambi Ra has dropped “Friday” alongside with a video clip.
The single that aims to remind us that simple choices of happiness, such as smiling and getting in the groove, can transform any tough day into Friday. This single is the first from Niambi Ra’s debut album Nebula and offers to the listeners smooth, head-bopping tempo with relatable rhymes, and sing-along lyrics.
The NYC-based artist said about her track, “Friday is more than just the fifth day of the week, the last day of the traditional work and school week, and the beginning of the weekend – it’s a lifestyle. Through celebration, I see Friday as a means to elevate beyond life’s challenges and allow good vibes to take over”.
Niambi Ra draws her inspiration from Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, and A Tribe Called Quest which leads her to masterfully blend together elements of classic hip-hop, funk, and soul into her music. The singer, songwriter and MC has been writing and producing her own songs since high school, while attending the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in DC.
Niambi has made her mark as a recording artist and is often seen performing with her band The Blackstarz. She hopes that her music will inspire the listeners to speak their truth and tell their stories by evoking love, strength, and unity in the spirits of audiences around the world. Her forthcoming album Nebula is set to release in April
