Aidan Gillen and Tom Hollander have just joined the cast of the new biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, according to the official Queen Twitter account.
Rami Malek will play Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic, which is being produced by Graham King’s GK Films banner for 20th Century Fox and New Regency.
Gillen and Hollander will be acting as Queen’s managers. Gillen will play John Reid, Queen’s manager from 1975 to 1978, while Hollander will play Jim Beach, Queen’s longtime manager, who took over in 1978.
The rest of the cast includes Joe Mazzello, Ben Hardy and Gwilym Lee, who are playing Queen band members, as well as Lucy Bolton, who will be playing Freddie Mercury’s lifelong companion, Mary Austin.
The script was written by Justin Haythe (Red Sparrow, Revolutionary Road), with King, Jim Beach and Singer producing. Denis O’Sullivan, Arnon Milchan and Jane Rosenthal are executive producers. Kira Goldberg is overseeing the project for Fox.
Gillen is most known for his role as Littlefinger on HBO’s Game Of Thrones. He is set to star in BBC’s John le Carre adaptation The Spy Who Came In From The Cold.
Hollander will next be seen in the Andy Serkis feature Breathe and is also set for the actor-turned-director’s Jungle Book adaptation.
Bohemian Rhapsody is set for release in UK cinemas on December 28, 2018.
