Alexander Skarsgard Joins Park Chan-Wook’s ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ | TV News

Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, The Legend Of Tarzan, Big Little Lies) is set to star as the male lead in Park Chan-Wook‘s six-part event series adaptation of John Le Carre‘s novel, The Little Drummer Girl.

The story will follow a brilliant young actress (Florence Pugh) who strikes up a burgeoning friendship with a stranger (Skarsgard) while on holiday in Greece, but it quickly becomes clear his intentions are far from romantic and that he’s in fact an Israeli intelligence officer who entangles her in a high stakes plot.

It’s an enticing team up. With two upcoming actors in the lead roles, an always-interesting director of Oldboy and The Handmaiden, and with the show coming from the same BBC/AMC/Ink Factory team up that brought us The Night Manager, this has all the makings of a must-see series.

The series is set to go into production in 2018, while another Le Carre adaptation, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, is also in the works, and also planned as an event series.
