The Alexander Wang X H&M collection is a gathering of sports luxe meets a dark glossy layering of workable key pieces. As the health lifestyle industry soars, this is perfect timing for the collection to go live, with Autumn underway and summer in the back of our minds; it’s time to get motivated and inspired to be active and this collection really inspires you to be that. The collection is dominantly black, a perfect colour canvas portraying strength, elegance and not forgetting slimming.
The collection allows you to work around the baggy tops, beanie hats, leather trousers and a statement bomber jacket. If you are looking for a key autumn staple for your wardrobe and you’re not afraid to stand out, this collection is for you. Alexander said about the collections, that he enjoys working with H&M as they get to know the culture and aesthetics of the designer.
The live show, which aired earlier this morning was entertaining, fun and upbeat. The runway was designed as a sports ground with a running strip and podium with trampolines at bars fitted around it. If you hadn’t already known the theme of the collection, this would have given you your heads up. The collection was fierce, strong and dark; the models were poised and athletic, adding a powerful experience to the collection.
The opening was a gymnastic choreograph energized dance getting the audience hyped up for the show to come. Sporting inspiration from hockey, American football, hiking and running, this collection is easily conveyable and branches out to an array of sports. At one point, I felt a Tomb Raider moment that had me quite excited! The collection goes live for H&M on 06.11.14 – keep that in your diary.
