It’s official. After casting Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson for the male leads, Paramount Pictures and director Seth Gordon have confirmed that San Andreas actress Alexandra Daddario has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming movie adaptation of TV series Baywatch. She will play the character Summer – a lifeguard who is also the love interest of Efron’s character. She’ll find some familiarities though, since Johnson and Daddario recently worked together in San Andreas.
Previously, Deadline revealed there were several actresses in line for the role, these were: Pretty Little Liars’ Ashley Benson, Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev, X-Men Apocalypse’s Alexandra Shipp, Teen Wolf’s Shelley Henning, The Duff’s Bianca Santos and Big Time Rush’s Denyse Tontz.
