All The Best Looks And Moments From Met Gala 2019 | Fashion News
The first Monday in May is one of the most significant events in the fashion industry, when New York’s Metropolitan Art Museum hosts, every year since 1948, The Met Gala, an annual benefit event for the Costume Institute ant it’s considered one of the world’s biggest fashion events.
It is known for its exclusive guest list, its expensive tickets and most of all, its extravagant outfits, based on a different theme each year, and for this one the theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion to coincide with an upcoming exhibition at the Met, inspired by US writer and political activist Susan Sontag‘s 1964 essay, Notes on Camp.
So the outfits this year were therefore, like the exhibition, based on “irony, humour, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality and exaggeration”. And here you can find the best outfit of this incredible night. Starting with Lady Gaga‘s entrance, probably one of the most epic moment.
The singer and Oscar-winner’s entrance was an extended high-fashion burlesque performance in which she dramatically disrobed to reveal four different Brandon Maxwell looks in under a minute, accompanied by umbrella-wielding dancers. Check out the pictures below.
