Alt-Pop Band BAXTR Release Debut Single ‘Bloom’ | Music News

 

On the 18th of June, the new alt-pop group BAXTR released their debut single titled “Bloom”. BAXTR is an all-female trio from London producing some really solid DIY music. Their sound is inspired by 80’s pop, BritPop and 90’s guitar bands. The three women are striving for “flamboyant, empowering and shameless danceable guitar pop”.

 

“Bloom” is a classic summer hit that is spreading positive energy. According to BAXTR, the song is inspired by the story of a young female intern. The lyrics encourage her to “showing them all what you’ve got when you get in that room”. Furthermore the lyrics repeat “Your summer is coming soon” constantly and relate to the summer and flower topic of the song.

The debut single is a hymn to anybody who ever have doubted themselves and is about to “Bloom”. Moreover the positive lyrics meet with a full and guitar based sound. In this way the hole song expresses an indomitable and confident nature. BAXTR delivers a strong debut single that shows girl power and fits perfectly into summer.

 

The band, made up of Floss Mackintosh on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Bash Powers on lead guitar, keyboards and backing vocals, and Keiko Jackson on drums and backing vocals, have being described as “It’s like if Haim and Fleetwood Mac had a love-child and that child has turned 16 and thrown a summer house party“, and we’re excited to hear more.
