Angels & Airwaves – Kiss And Tell | Music Video

American rock band Angels & Airwaves are back! Seven years after their last show, Tom DeLonge’s space-rock project performed last Wednesday night and they have released a new single to announce the beginning of their comeback tour.

Angels & Airwaves is a supergroup of rock formed by Blink-182’s former member Tom DeLonge and featuring David Kennedy and Ilan Rubin. The band was formed back in 2005, after popular US rock band Blink-182 split up.

Group leader DeLonge described the group as something much more than a band. He said it is “an art project [that approaches] larger human themes and tackles them in different mediums”, or simply “a multimedia project”.

Angels & Airwaves dropped their first album in 2006, titled Don’t Need to Whisper. Four other albums followed their debut one and a documentary film about DeLonge’s project called Start the Machine was released in 2008.

The band seemed to have vanished into thin air after their last album in 2014, but they are finally back in the game. During their first show in seven years, the supergroup debuted new tracks like “Rebel Girl” and played some of their most acclaimed hits, such as “There Is” or “The Adventure”.

Now, to announce their stage comeback, they have released a brand-new single titled “Kiss & Tell” with a music video to accompany the track directed by Matt Thompson. Inspired in US iconic band Beach Boys, DeLonge’s band have introduced some New Wave beats combined with pop and rock elements to bring an incredibly original new musical experience.

“The beginning of the song is really an ode to the Beach Boys. It opens with three-part harmonies to create an introduction with multi-dimensionality. We wanted to create a sound that had electronic elements right alongside classic rock and pop punk melodic structures”, DeLonge said about the new single in a press conference.

He then added, “Lyrically, this song is specifically about balancing on the edge of a razor blade. Doing something you’re not supposed to be doing, and although you might die while doing it, it’s still very much keeping you feeling alive”.
