If you enjoyed Edgar Wright‘s Baby Driver but wanted star Ansel Elgort to be a little more talkative, the trailer for November Criminals might be just what you need. In the trailer below, Elgort stars as Addison Schacht trying to solve the murder of his best friend after authorities insist it was gang-related.
The film is adapted from the novel by Sam Munson, and while there’s potential here, there’s a good chance that this won’t be as enjoyable as Baby Driver, or maybe any other film Elgort will ever appear in.
Production on November Criminals actually wrapped two years ago, so clearly Sony didn’t have much faith in the project to begin with and are likely only releasing it now to cash in on Elgort’s rising popularity.
Despite that, the film still offers a solid cast with Chloë Grace Moretz, Catherine Keener and David Strathairn also starring in the film. Of course not every film that has sat on the shelf for an extended period of time has turned out to be poor, so we’ll give November Criminals the benefit of the doubt. The film is directed by Sacha Gervasi (Hitchcock).
November Criminals will be available on demand from Tuesday, November 7 and will hit cinemas on Friday, December 8.
