Aquilo consists of Lake District natives Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher, the duo have just released their new track “Silhouette” which will appear on their forthcoming debut album via Island Records that will follow later this year. Previous to this, the band released their EP Calling me and have released other tracks including “Good Girl” and “Never Seen You Get So Low”. At the end of 2015 they played sold out headline shows in San Francisco, LA and New York, and earlier this month they supported Oh Wonder in the UK ahead of a forthcoming headline tour of their own (with dates to follow).
The band have been well received including rave reviews with DIY saying “Aquilo are one of the few acts capable of making listeners people cry with a track that includes playful saxophone licks”. Whilst Stereogum commented: “Beautiful and honeyed and full of relentless emotions”.
