Young Berlin singer DALEE has released a new single “VETO”, which was released on March 8 for International Women’s Day.
“VETO” is a strong single that engages in the fight for women’s rights, the Arab-German singer-songwriter DALEE explains “With this song I want to encourage women and all those who are affected by sexism to use their right to veto when they are being structurally or verbally oppressed”.
“I couldn’t imagine a more suitable date to release my new single ‘VETO’, as it highlights what we’ve accomplished but that we still have a long way to go. We’ve gotten better at talking openly about sexism, but I feel like not everyone has acknowledged its existence yet. By addressing this issue, I’m contributing to the International Women’s Day 2021.”
As well as being a young woman fighting for these rights, DALEE has made a name for herself in modern R&B, with her rhythmic vocals taking listeners into her world and her songs immediately making you want to dance.
DALEE got into music at a very young age as a violinist, guitarist and pianist and found a home there. She was inspired by singers such as Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott and Jorja Smith to find her way.
