In this episode Malory (Jessica Walter) has set up a drug deal in Miami and has sent Archer, Lana, and Pam to complete it. Pretty by the numbers so far, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a woman, Pam, wearing a whole body cast made out of cocaine. And who then proceeds to eat said body cast sitting on the toilet while Archer lies unconscious in a pool of his own blood.
But is it because Pam is fat that we see her eat all the time? I have noticed that she often appears nude for shock value, and not for titillation as Lana and Cheryl/Carol are often used for. But is it the fault of the show or of us that we find such a thing undesirable? Pam doesn’t seem to care either way, she just wants that cocaine.
The highlight of the episode has to be when Archer has a passionate kiss with a dying Ramon; there was nothing sexual about it, according to Archer, but it was “muy complicado”. The joke is one of those “fridge logic” moments: you only get it after the show has ended, probably when you are getting an ice cold bottle of ‘Glengoolie Black’ (Archer reference, two imaginary points if you got it) from said fridge. That being as Ramon had faked his own death to steal the cocaine, why did he get Archer to give him a final kiss? Because he wanted to, that’s why. Archer is available on Netflix.
