With Batman v Superman coming to cinemas shortly on March 25th, I thought it would be a good idea to discuss whether or not this concept would make a great film.
I am not being sceptical merely stating that as a matter of fact a movie adaptation of this concept was in the works back in 2004. However it never reached the big screen due to various different reasons, the main one being the script was very convoluted (I had to Google that word before I put it in this article).
The other issue is that DC and Marvel are flooding the market with superhero adaptations. So just like the buddy cop phase in the 1980’s (Tango & Cash, Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon e.t.c), the Spaghetti Western era in the 1960’s, you have to ask, when will the superhero genre go out of fashion?
Granted when you view the trailer below, the acting looks fantastic. The fight scenes are on par with all other current action/superhero movies and the whole film looks visually stunning. But will it match up? Or are we getting sick of this worn out genre?
Time will tell. But for now, sit back and enjoy the trailer.
