‘Batman V Superman’ Producer Charles Roven Discusses Batman’s Character | Film News

Having upheld a no killing rule for some time, it looks like Ben Affleck’s version of Batman may be tempted to break his golden rule in DC’s upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to the film’s producer Charles Roven, the caped crusader will “not be giving people a chance”, well he’s certainly not spared the violence in the past…

Speaking to Empire, Roven explained that Batman definitely believes he’s the top law enforcer in Metropalis: “He is more than a vigilante. He has become not only the cop, if you will, he has also become the jury and executioner”.

Roven continued, revealing that Batman’s past experiences have inevitably darkened and toughened his character since he’s aged: “He’s older and he’s seen the worst of what man can do. He’s been darkened by it, he’s tougher, he’s angrier, I guess. He’s still lost those that are near and dear to him, and not necessarily from old age or disease”.
