Norwegian artist Ben Lorentzen has recently unveiled his third single “If You Only Knew”, from his forthcoming new album King of Bitter Sorrow, which will be released in February 2020.
Music has been Ben’s greatest passion since a young age. He grew up in a family where music was heard and practiced all time and wrote his first song when he was eleven years old. The artist has confessed: “having written my first song I was literally high for a week. It was something I had never experienced before. Over the years it became my religion, my gateway to the unknown, to the mysterious and to the spiritual”.
With his his band Brent, he has released 2 albums and 1 EP and landed 3 top 40 radio hits in home country Norway. After touring the world and collaborating with artists such as Martin Hagfors and Paal Flaata, in 2015, he released his first solo album called America.
“If You Only Knew” perfectly represents Ben’s music style and genre, which he has defined Suburban Noir. The track is deeply atmospheric, thanks to the singer’s voiceprint and sweet guitar arpeggios. Lyrics are simple, but they manage to convey the romantic message of the track, while traces of such inspirations as Paul Simon, Nick Cave, Soundgarden and Tool can be easily found.
